2. The definition of Gothic is pertaining to or designating the style of painting, sculpture..etc. An example of gothic in Frankenstien is that Victor never leaves in his apartment which is describes as dark and creepy
3.Alchemy-a form of chemistry and speculative philosophy practiced in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and concerned principally with discovering methods for transmuting baser metals into gold and with finding a universal solvent and an elixir of life.
This has to do with Frankenstein because Victor wanted to find cures for diseases and bring people back to life which is like eternal youth.
4.Franeknstein was written because Mary Shelley went to Switzerland with her soon to be husband and had a competition with the people there who can write the scariest story and she wrote Frankenstein.
5. Prometheus- the son of Iapetus who was one of the Titans. He tricked the gods into eating bare bones instead of good meat. He stole the sacred fire from Zeus and the gods. He did not tell Zeus the prophecy that one of Zeus's sons will overthrow him. In punishment, Zeus commanded that Prometheus be chained for eternity in the Caucasus. There, an eagle (or, according to other sources, a vulture) would eat his liver, and each day the liver would be renewed. So the punishment was endless, until Heracles finally killed the bird. Prometheus is known to be one of the most interesting characters in Greek Mythology.
"Modern day Prometheus"-Victor Frankenstein was like Prometheus by keeping the creation of the monster to himself. The monster destroyed everything and when people found out that Frankenstein was the one who created the monster, they decided he deserved death.
6.Description of the monster- has green skin
-looks a little like Victor

7. In the poem, Paradise Lost, by John Milton, the Satan rebels agaisnt his master creator. He rebelled against him because he didnt like the blessings coming from the creator and wanted to find something about the Earth. This relates to Frankenstein because in Frankenstien, the monster rebels against his creator to go find and "tour" the earth.
